I just stepped up from 12.10 to 13.04 in its current iteration -- and

I agree with the previous post! Thinking it was safe to assume that the
laptop would go into suspend is quite bad considering that a) it doesn't
lock the screen and b) does indeed overheat badly when putting it back

Just tested it on my MBP 5,2 and it works again. Yay! ... now, if they
only would fix the corrupt graphics in the Unity Launcher when coming

just curious - what makes you think that this issue is indeed kernel
based? For some reason, I personally believe that this might be a gnome-
setting-daemon issue.
So, before I post an upstream kernel bug, could you please enlighten me?

typing into any available field, be it the Unity Dash or a Nautilus
window. I just now tried it again, freshly logged in, typing away on the
empty desktop with the Nautilus search field displayed in the lower
right corner. Sur
