Failed to get EDID from monitor, and closed driver.
Your VGA cable is probably broken. But if it's not, there's not much we can do
about it.
Unfortunately there's not much that can be done. I would try to replace
the VGA cable.

I get exactly the same error message every time I press a media key on my
keyboard. The media keys do work though, so that's not the problem. But my
error logs are filled with those messages, which can be quite annoying
sometimes when you want to look for a problem.
My keyboard has no brand, or
An additional comment: not all my media keys work out of the box, some
of them require manual action, but the volume control, the music
controls and some other keys do work. I haven't tested all of them yet.

It shouldn't be impossible to blacklist if I'm right. Are you sure you
added 'blacklist' before 'usbcore'? Even in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist ?

I've reported this issue at the qce-ga bugtracker, the project that is
responsible for this driver. However, since the Launchpad BugWatch doesn't
support the SourceForge bugtracker I have to post the link here:
It could be that bug 220607 describes the same problem. If that's true
your problem will be solved in the 2.6.25 kernel and higher. However,
you probably want this fixed now, and not when you upgrade to 8.10. I'm
