Note: when i start xsane i see a window to select scan device, If I
select the 1st one xsane starts fine and gives the problem as exposed.

Every cycle python-apt breaks until updated
Same problem on Ubuntu 21.04. started gnome-font-viewer from terminal the
window opens but is unresponsive. closing it I have the crash and a message:

I have same error with HP Deskjet 2630 and simple-scan 3.38.1-1 on Ubuntu 21.04
was ok before some upgrades.

Ok, trying with xsane i get it, but using hpaio backend I have
'SANE_STATUS_IO_ERROR'
Also with xsane I see the same problems. See attached image.
