I noticed that the dialog window (which is not resizable) cannot be
clicked to initiate the upgrade process in the display is approx 768px
high - common with low end laptops.
Suggest make the upgrade dialog smaller than this -

shown on GNOME Settings Displays

Under GNOME-Shell and Budgie Desktop - using third party docks such as
Plank, the application focus is wrong - it shows the previous
application window as having the current focus
i.e. open a terminal, then open nautilus - the active focus window is
actually still reported
You filed this bug report under "budgie-artwork" - budgie uses gnome-
screensaver, so I've changed the package for the bug-report.
Note though - your bug report also states that your current desktop is
"XFCE" - so what are you using?
I would recommend that you test this on a clean live session
ok - reset this VM and I can no longer see the issue. Marking as

I installed plymouth-x11 from universe and plymouth then successfully
terminated.
Question - why is plymouth-x11 needed? Should Ubuntu Budgie have this as
part of its seeds?

ok - the best I could do is the following:
boot the live iso with nomodeset. chroot onto the hard-drive and
install openssh-server and in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf added
install i915 /bin/false and then ran update-initramfs -u
Then booted the machine without the USB stick ensuring

The logs attached were from a boot without nomodeset. I couldn't get to
a desktop ... it got stuck as shown in the picture ... so I had to force
power off, boot into a live session and navigate to /var/log on the hard
drive

turned on location services in Settings - Privacy, logged out and logged
in.
Open Maps. The map didn't show my location - just stayed blue.
So I entered my town and pressed return - selected my town from the
