It appears that when cups was updated it did not carry the old
parameters across to the new con-fig files.
Removing the printer then removing and purging the cups file then
reinstalling using the Brother install script (.sh) file has worked.

Since Cups 2.2.0 I have been unable to print any file to my network Brother
HL-3040CN series printer.
It will work Okay from a Windows machine.
The printer jobs say they are completed.
Have tried to reload..

Hi there,
I have just tried maern fix and it seems to be working on Ubuntu 11.10 at
present not tried a shut-down and cold boot thou.
