By default, users do not have the privilege to "Use scanners." Due to the

before the final release of 8.04.
Bug: I installed HPLIP-Toolbox and noticed errors and grayed out tabs - the

I don't know if the second link is of any use - maybe discussion will take

The desktop menus are becoming increasingly overcrowded (see: Internet,
Applications, Preferences). Too much entropy on the desktop could only lead
to one thing: an increase in the complexity of Ubuntu, which in turn, would
lead to a decrease in its popularity - it just won't be as easy anymore. To

You are definitely right that a normal user wouldn't be using Mutt -

We already have five items in the Internet section of the Applications menu,
and I do not believe there is any point in increasing the clutter by adding
the gnome bittorrent client as an entry. All it does is allow a user to
select a bittorrent file to start downloading with; however, in firefox,

Looking around, I have found that this problem would best be solved in
a blueprint drafted by Martin Pitt, hardy-reducing-duplication

). It aims to "Reduce duplicated applications and libraries in Hardy".

Here's a screenshot of the absurd number of printing applications:

As of now, we have three printing applications: one for Managing Print
Jobs, another for setting the Default Printer, and another for managing
Printing settings. Respectively, these entries exist under Accessories,
Preferences, and Administration; this is excessive.
I think we should just h
