Hello all,

we currently install xfonts-75dpi and xfonts-100dpi by default, which
need 7.4 MB compressed CD space, i. e. are very heavy. However, we
don't actually seem to need those at all. GNOME/KDE etc. use more
modern fonts, and even xcalc and xterm work fine without either of
them.

So I'd like to propose to stop installing them by default, i. e. drop
the dependency from the xorg metapackage.

Does anyone know a package which does need them and doesn't explicitly
depend on them? If you want to try, do

  sudo dpkg -P --force-depends xfonts-75dpi xfonts-100dpi

and then use your computer normally.

Thanks,

Martin
