I'm probably way out of my element, here, but wouldn't the ideal
solution be to load services based on what hardware is present. And by
"what hardware is present", I don't mean at install or boot-up; I mean
it in general (i.e., if someone plugs in an HP printer, then the HP
printer service(s) will

I just want to know where I can post a feature request for a kernel
patch to get IBMs Ultrabay into "supported" state.
I know that there is a way to get the bay to work with actual kernel +
some small additional patches.
Would be very nice to see them in Ubuntu Kernel to get a hotplugab
