Hi everyone!
Ubuntu Precise Beta 1, the next Ubuntu LTS, is going to be released on
March 1rst and candidate images started appearing today.
As usual we'll be asking everyone on the QA team to participate in the
image testing to ensure we have good test coverage.
The procedures for testing
In oneiric their was a modal-window feature for compiz that got removed
just before release.

Is this still worked on? Mutter already has this funtionality for
ages...would love to see it in Compiz too.

I've been toying with zram swap on the desktop, under Ubuntu Precise.
It looks like a good candidate for a major feature in the next version;
Precise is currently in feature freeze. Yes, implementing this would
involve just a single Upstart script; but it's a major change to the
memory
