This appear to have been fixed by the debian maintainer in version 4.8.0-2,
which is in ubuntu vivid.

Hi,
just a question: The package source of the ubuntu/debian package for
lighttpd has a --with-kerberos5 in debian/rules.
I nevertheless cannot find any hint that /usr/sbin/lighttpd or any in
/usr/lib/lighttpd would actually contain any kerberos function, not
even the strings kerberos or gssapi
