Hi, I'm looking for an Ubuntu developer skilled in the art of packaging
to mentor/coach one of my colleagues who wants to package his first app
for Ubuntu. Exciting stuff! Preference to anyone in or near Vancouver
BC, making it easier to work face-to-face but remote is okay too.

There is another important and non-technical dimension that we should
consider as a community when we discuss the kernel, or its replacement.
Marketing. (Yes the word now officially appears on a developer mailing
list ;)
Two experiments:
1) Say the word "Linux" to an average (non-technical) comp
At the risk of inciting a "riot of epic proportions", I would like to
propose an alternate hypothesis:
Ubuntu <> Linux.
I think it might be worthwhile to consider and to market Ubuntu for what
it is, a community-developed collection of free software (kernel,
toolchain, GNU utilities, applications
This issue is a good candidate for the (underused) Community Bug
Reporting area in Launchpad.
