I'm having a problem downloading limewire.
I think I just managed to trigger this without suspending etc.
I cold-booting, had the full spectrum of frequencies, decided to run the
tpfancontrol script (which overrides the inbuilt fan control logic) and
the cpufreq spectrum got locked between 1Ghz and 1Ghz:
current policy: frequency
Same on my X40.
I don't know what exactly happens but this makes the machine so slow
that it's not usable at all. Same with linux-image-2.6.22-5-generic.

I downloaded limewire directly from the site to which it asked the OS I
was using. I put linux it placed it under its own file then i began to
download from there. At the very end of it an error occured making it
incomplete. It also stopped my OS from recieving upgrade ext.

1) I launched a DVD burn of a directory.
2) My fault: I removed a file from this directory (a .swp file, by exiting vim).
3) mkisofs is surprised that a file has disappeared, and fails, which is normal.
What I would have expected:

Upgrade Tool crashes during removal of redundant packages
Thats quite alright these things can be frustrating lets see if we cant
gather some useful information to debut this problem.
I assume you will want to give this another try...lets try with no other
programs running (attempt to work around the issue)
also lets get a back trace when we do this,
I believe the problem is that Cygwin only supports ASCII encoding. It
doesn't understand non-ascii filenames.
So if you have non-ascii filenames, you need to use the native win32
bzr, not cygwin.
I think it would be useful if we had a better way of handling errors
like this, so I'm not closing
