I'm experiencing the same. I tried to compile kernel 2.6.24-7.11 from
hardy on my amd64 feisty machine and it won't boot the new kernel. There
are lots of Segmentation fault messages during the boot, then ide/sata
is loaded and I end in busybox shell. There are so many Segmentation

I can confirm this issue. Suspend/resume works fine in Hardy a week ago.
Now my system completely hangs on resume with glowing hdd led like in
the versions before Feisty but I can confirm too that it is still
possible to resume if I use the 2.6.25-rc1 vanilla kernel.

After a clean install of Gutsy, I ran into this same problem. I tried
the fix that Henriël_Veldtmann suggested, and after about 2 weeks, I
haven't seen a problem since. I can't confirm the solution 100%, but
anecdotal evidence does suggest that it fixes it.
I'm not sure why the dbus-X11 package
I'm getting the same errors in Hardy alpha 3 (up to date as of
2/13/2008) with libgl1-mesa-dri installed. What other manual
configuration work is required? I added the whole Section DRI.. thing
to my xorg.conf to no avail. I don't have any LTSP packages installed.

The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducable with the
live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Hardy
