I just tried what you said.
BTW my kernel is a fresh -19 source (from repos) with my patch added.
I booted up with power in and did a hibernate, then when the machine was
completely off I removed the power and booted back up.
I have no kernel errors or oops or anything dis ordinary in dmesg.
I think this might be the problem.
It seems to be that nm-applet is having problems obtaining the network
key from the gnome keyring. When I first attempted to use wireless the
tray icon would animate and flash green and ask for the wireless key
every minute or so. Then I opened the manual setup

Ok. It seems an unstable Addon caused this behavior. After I disabled
the Prism for Firefox-Addon (V0.2) everything went well.
