I lost track of this bug when upgrading. Must have been gone with 7.10,
definitely is gone with 8.04 and kernel 2.6.24-19. So I think there's no
need to test 2.6.26 or 2.6.27. AFAIC, bug could be closed.

corrupted. In general, the following events happened:
xdm was updated to 1:1.1.8-1.1 via NMU (.1 point release)
xdm maintainer doesn't properly ack the NMU, -2 is uploaded, 1.1 is removed

I will try and get around to testing the LiveCD, although it may not be this
weekend. However, I am currently running the Hardy 2.6.24-19-386 #1 Wed Aug
20 21:59:50 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux and have not had the kernel panic issue
