I believe that I solved my own issue. I ran a couple commands.
The first was:

I am using Interpid 64bit with firefox version 3.0.5 and flashplugin-
nonfree 10.0.15.3ubuntu1~intrepid1...
It works good for some time (i.e. several hours of surfing). After that
it starts to show every flash as a gray box.

Why can't I play the CD ? The problem is that it is almost as if some internal
value says that the CD isn't there or isn't ready. I press the play icon and
