I'm running a mixed IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack environment. fping seems to
work fine for ipv4 only hosts, and fping6 seems to work fine for ipv6
only hosts, but when a host can be found via both, it seems that fping
fails for one or the other:

devicekit-disks bugs. Can someone assign a better package? Should it be
'linux'? I don't know...

Same/Similar problem here, interestingly the resets happen exactly every
30 or 60min. The USB harddrive still works as normaly, but the reset
wakes it up out of being suspended which can get a little annoying.

I just tried the newer Ubuntu 2.6.31-15.50 kernel. It also is broken on
this machine, but it's behavior is somewhat different. Instead of
locking up, it reboots the machine every time, before I even have a
chance to log in. Sometimes it makes it as far as playing the login
screen music before
I am affected by the same problem. Nautilus hangs when entering a folder
with svg files and ff hangs as well if I try to upload the file. I can
open it without any problems in Inkscape. The bug started manifesting
yesterday, I didn't have any problem before that. I'm using 9.10 (fresh
install).

Same issue if I try to read directly a dvd inserted with totem. But if I
open totem manually and then try to read my dvd, the error message is

I saw this marked as a duplicate of 408432 (marked with low
importance).
But again all that seems to be directed to Xorg problems. This bug
happens without Xorg (only virtual console is enough) (see #21,
you just have to stop gdm durning flickering screen in tty1 login
type
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop
then install nvidia drivers(not open source one)
if you have not downloaded drivers, boot from previous kernel and download them
then install drivers by
sudo sh NVIDIA.run ,or whatever is your driver
LottaNZB 0.5.2 has been uploaded to Debian, so the package should be
synced to Ubuntu within the next few weeks.

Same problem. I've edited the appropriate file /etc/grub.d/00_header to
set gfxpayload=1024x768x16. Then ran sudo update-grub to update the
grub.cfg file. I then open the grub.cfg file to verify it is updated.
But when I reboot my computer I get the grub2 screen for OS selection,
choose Ubuntu,

Sorry I'm slow getting back to you on this. I sort of hoped it was just
the usual glitches (even though they're supposed to be ready to release
the software when they release it)... However, it appears the sound-
related problems are much more serious than I understood at the time,

Either a recent round of system updates or installing the linux-
backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic package as recommended seems to
have done the trick for me. Still not sure whether this was the same
issue as the original post, though.

By the way, wacdump seems to return x/y position, pressure and
touch=down perfectly. When I click the right button or middle button
wacdump registers nothing and the cursor doesn't move, but I'm not too
fussed by that right now. I just want pressure and the ability to
register a tap!

I have the same problem on HP DV7-1260ew, sometimes when i boot Jaunty
or Karmic the keyboard and mouse freezes at gdm login.
In Jaunty the power button rebooted computer but in Karmic power button
is opening shutdown menu where i cant do anythink just force restart...
