Issue is caused by an older version of Flashplugin-nonfree; the original
plugin that would have been downloaded is removed from the server at
Canonical, and the newer version installed.
Workaround: press Reload in Synaptic, or issue the command sudo apt-
get update, then re-install both

My Dell E6500 with the NVIDIA NVS-160M video and 0.3 Webcam 4G RAM also
fails to standby on lid close, (in both XP) and Ubuntu 10.04 32 bit
(PAE). It does suspend using the Fn-Suspend key combination though.

I did what you suggested (install pavucontrol) and now the webcam
microphone is detected and selected, and I can record from it.
Removing pavucontrol does not reverse this.

A gestures-enabled version of the upstream X evedev input driver.
Gestures are processed through the grail code. This is not planned for
upstream inclusion in X, as MT support is planned for next cycle
(upstream) and that work will obsolete this.

running a preinstalled image X and the desktop wallpaper come up but no
oem-config window appears. the session seems to hang. hitting enter
after a while switches back to tty. looking at the logs it seems that
there is some exect format error

I installed Ubuntu 10.10 alpha 3. Ever since I can't connect to the
internet with my wireless adapter: ID 0846:9001 NetGear, Inc. WN111(v2)
RangeMax Next Wireless [Atheros AR9001U-(2)NG]. This while it can see
al connections in the
lintian gives those errors:

this required bit more work than I thought initially
