I'm sorry, but I could not reproduce your bug ;
using the time function, nor with the play command, neither with mplayer
did I get a significant difference between Karmic and Lucid.
Both gave me a real play time of approximately 1.2 sec, to play the 0.4 sec
file... (mplayer was faster)
For me, changing the default sample rate to 44100 and setting it to
'lock' at this rate fixed any crackling or 'hot' audio. (Using Ubuntu
10.10 beta, audiophile 2496 / ICE1712 card).

I checked the workaround posted in comment #54 and it worked. But when I
have a virtualbox launched and VM running and I put the system to sleep,
the machine doesn't wake up properly - I can only see a cursor blinking.

I have installed a mainline kernel and it mostly works. The only problem
is that it does not resume wired networking, while the wireless resumes

Sounds like the old non redirected rendering paths in AIGLX drivers.
Should be good now if you use radeon or the like. Not sure about fglrx,
but that would be their issue.

I still have this bug even with the latest Lucid updates. I tried xorg-
edgers but then I couldn't use my keyboard and mouse so I was not able

Hi Fabio
Karmic no change, can't install Lucid it do to the removal of the F4 fail save
graphics mode in lucid .It would be great to get get the semtech touch screen
to work or at least disable it as I could in prior releases.
