Unfortunately the release of pygobject 2.28.4 was a bit premature, as it
removed the workaround for the broken GLib.Variant.new_variant. This was
only fixed in the yet unreleased g-i upstream git head, and not fixed at
all in glib itself yet. Thus using the pygobject 2.28.4 release with the

I manage to set up the account and receive chat messages (haven't yet tried
calls), using the last *deb package provided on the developer's website. But
one problem that really pisses me off is that in Empathy the plugin called
bigbrownchunck-skype-dbus does not display an icon.

Indeed Evince(maybe poppler?) has a regression problem over a period of time
including Natty Alpha2.
Current daily-live 20110418 with poppler-data and ttf-takao-{mincho,gothic}

If you don't already have them... open a terminal and try:
$ sudo apt-get install msttcorefonts
It contains packages that SHOULD set your default font to Times New
Roman. Worked for me, but I'm using Gaudy with OOo 3.1

This is really annoying. I installed a fresh ISO of natty beta-2 and after
enabling the nvidia drivers and rebooting, I can't login.
GDM loads fine but after login, X freezes. I have to use a Classic (no effects)
session.
