Charles Twardy 's suggestion above was part of the solution for me:
1. In /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf
Find the [xdmcp] section in the file, set: Enable=True
2. In /etc/xinetd.d/Xvnc
Change: /usr/share/X11/fonts/misc
To: /usr/share/fonts/X11/misc
3. sudo killall Xvnc
4. sudo /etc/init.d/xinetd
this with the checkinstall version that is installed by edgy -
and it WORKS! ;-)
Maybe this workaround could be spread in the ubuntu community, or some
developers might help the checkinstall developers to get the 2.0 version
finished, which is said to be a big much more modular rewrite.
Thanks,
Achim
I assume the module of 1.3.8 has been integrated? The bug initially
referenced the 1.3.2 module.
If so, we will try to keep the module interface stable for some time so
that even future releases of VirtualBox will be able to work with the
Feisty module.
