I think it's a really good idea to at least use images like these.
Personally, I've always been more attached to graphics over photos for
default, but whatever, times change. The only thing I find unfortunate is
that this is version 10.04, a Mac OSX version number, and we're branding

I don't know how to make debs, so it's just a drop-in filesystem tree.
I've been having a bit of a problem with transitions, they almost always
happen about 20 minutes before the intended time. I think ideally it should
Cool. Can you upload it somewhere to share? I would love to see your
changes; it sounds intriguing.
Where should I put it? I was going to attach it to the email, but it's about
16 MB when compressed. Is there a place on the wiki or something?

I've been doing a bit of work on the basis of the Day of Ubuntu slideshow,
and I've made a version expanded to 12 images. I can provide a deb if
anyone's interested.

how about wallpapers changing with regard to the climate? :)
Ooh! That'd be really neat. I took a look at
http://mundogeek.net/weather-wallpaper , and I think a remix of Dawn of
Ubuntu would look a lot nicer.

That looks interesting. I think Ubuntu ought to follow along the theme of
abstract wallpapers.

I'm not particularly into accepting something that is some slight edit on
this one. I would consider a new design altogether.

I'll try a few fresh samples then.

I'll have the trash icon stuff up probably today or tomorrow. I may not
get around to the folder because I found it rather difficult to manipulate
though...

Weird. I can't edit the images I downloaded. Is there some sort of lock on
the breath svgs?

After having requested the correct names to the icon naming spec guru,
I'm requesting these icons:
folder-documents
folder-music
folder-pictures
folder-videos
folder-downloads
folder-publicshare
folder-templates
I agree, a very good idea.

Hi all,
Who would be interested in having an irc meeting to discuss current and
future community related design issues?
I'll be there if the time works!

Sounds like Saturday at 19UTC (21:00 in Germany, 15:00/3pm in New York) is
the best for everyone. Speak up now if this is a problem!
Aw, I can't make Saturday as far as I'm aware, though I don't know yet.
Personally, Sunday would be better.

Welcome. Do you have a portfolio? Some published work? (GNOME-Look,
DeviantArt, whatever)
Nothing prepared, I've only played around up until now. I'll see if I can
put a few things together.

Here's a quick little portfolio I put together today. I just figured out
gradients yesterday on inkscape, so as you can see the svg images are of
progressing quality, though still very basic.

Hi, I've just joined the Ubuntu art community.
My experience with computer based art consists of a fair bit of GIMP work,
and I've played around a little but with svg graphics, but grasp GIMP much
better.
