I can confirm that the evince part is still an issue on current natty.
- If I load the pdf printed from firefox into evince, it looks fine.
- If I do print preview, pages 1 and 4 are still entirely bitmap images,
whereas pages 2 and 3 are nice and sharp.
My cairo version is 1.10.2-1ubuntu1.

I also had a working lucid system until I updated on Jan-12 to current

kernel finished booting and starts running script, it hangs. It says

files in /etc/ such as /etc/rcS.d, and turned /etc/events.d into a file,

It seems that what is happening is this:
When X uses the nvidia driver (but not the nv driver) it hangs for about
10 seconds before starting. During this hang, I cannot switch to a VT,
and the backlight is on. Eventually, however, the backlight turns off,
the nVidia logo flashes on the screen,

Ooops ALSA works fine, but PulseAudio chooses the PC Speaker as the
output device instead of the real output device. I don't know why this
happens only with 2.6.26 and not 2.6.24. I have turned off the use of
pulseaudio in System Preferences Sound.
