1) linux-image-generic is not installed by default (though linux-image-highbank
is removed)
2) after an `apt-get-install linux-image-generic` the flash-kernel run-parts
routine
Confirmed the ppa in Comment #29 allows me to get virtualbox back up and
running after installing the lts-quantal kernel and xserver, moving me
from 12.04.1 to 12.04.2.

Based on our testing with the driver in the 3.5.0-24.37 kernel on local
hardware we have validated that the device itself is functional.
It does appear that the driver does have an issue when entering S3 which
should be addressed in a new bug I'll file.

and the installation routine (after flashing) assumes user data (UDA) is

Hi Neo -- The intent of this bug is to provide the latest bits we have
available from Cypress via Dell to cover the driver for the
Panda ES here, booted today's quantal armhf desktop build, and the
backlight on my monitor fired up and stayed up (did not go into sleep
mode) but nothing displayed on the monitor at all.
I'm using a 23 inch Samsung PX2370.
I tried the stock image, and then rebuilt my boot.scr per comment #4
Just to clarify Comment #8, using the workarounds (rebuilding boot.scr)
with either:
* video=HDMI-A-1:1920x1080@60
* video=HDMI-A-1:1280x800@60
... yield no difference in behaviour, identical to the behaviour on
today's daily build.
