Setting problem as confirmed as there is a fix and using the method sorted the problem out - I hope however that someone fixes this pretty soon as I believe it can have a serious backlash on linux uptake. Problems like this can overshadow the user experience for novice users. Had I not used Linux

Did you try the other treads - A whole bunch on wireless problems in connection with upgrades. For me plugging into the wire, ticking off the use restricted drivers in the Restricted Drivers Management Gui found under Administration did the trick - Asked to download the driver suggested. -- lost

Got the same problem - I am however not anywhere near a wired connection so I will wait till I get home to put a (v) check in the restricted drivers management gui, I can luckily see the BCM43xx driver in my management utility - or I'll search my disk for the already installed driver... -- lost
