I have nearly the exact same problem as Oren - but I have yet to
experience it happen /while sound is playing/. Only when pandora.com is
paused for some time, and I then try to unpause it, does it happen: It
seems to play just fine, as do other tabs I open e.g. in youtube - only
there is no sound
One more observation, which gets me thinking that what me and Oren
describes is maybe not quite the same as the original poster AndreK

I just wanted to chip in with an observation: I have Ubuntu Karmic. I
open the System-Preferences-Sound, and then switch to the Applications
tab. There I can see which applications that send sound - probably which
applications have a pulse session or whatever. There's one line, and a
volume

I got the same problem. I installed Ubuntu some hours ago, and have been
browsing through the 161 updates that was waiting. Then I hit Install
Updates, and got presented with the mentioned NOT AUTHENTICATED - YOU
MACHINE WILL MOST CERTAINLY BE HIJACKED BY PIRATES (or some similar
wording) warning.
