I completed the build from source and discovered that the problem lies
with the cmake/make rules from Oracle as the build from source resulted
in the build of myself as a shared object instead of an executable.
My apology. This issue can be closed.

The "bot* wouldn't accept the package as valid, but I downloaded it from
a Ubuntu server. The problem belongs to whomever (cross)compiled the
code and added it to the package.

I couldn't completely install the server. Mysqld was installed so I
tried starting it. It reported "segmentation fault". So I examined
mysqld with the file utility which reported that it was a shared object.
I then downloaded the package directly from the ports.ubuntu.com
