Perhaps it would make sense to track version 2.7 of the intel driver for jaunty (which would in effect mean the master branch for now, I guess). After all, intel releases on a quarterly basis. Last release was in q4 2008, so 2.7 should be released in q1 2009, i.e. in time for the jaunty release.
