This effects me with Ubuntu Natty latest updates as of 4/19/2011 @ 10:41PM
I have no unity/gnome panel and just a desktop with right click abilities, to
remedy this issue I must install unity 2d so I can view fullscreen videos on my
samsung tv. Enabling unity2d however does not enable the gnome
this issue persists in the latest ubuntu 11.04 natty beta, with two
different wireless cards, it seems like a driver specific issue, when
you rmmod zd1211rw or r8187 and then modprobe the driver back, you are
able to re-establish a connection. Can you all confirm this as well?

ok, all u do is boot your live cd and open a terminal, wget
http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/g/glibc/libc6_2.7-5ubuntu2_i386.deb
then mount your ubuntu drive whichever that is, it may be here:/media/disk-1 or
something or another, open a terminal and then dpkg -x
i confirm this bug, had to boot into live cd and dpkg -x oldlibc
/pathtomounted borked system to boot back up

Bootchart -
6-03-0ubuntu2 did not fix the issue, what I did was remove 6-04-0ubuntu2 and I
also removed all kernels except 1 kernel and removed bootchart, then
reinstalled, and it does not log to /var/log/bootchart/*
Here is my apt-cache policy sun-java6-bin
sun-java6-bin:
Installed: 6-03-0ubuntu2
Yes I agree, HARDY TAKES FOREVER TO BOOT! gosh! it really sucks lol,
but hardy looks nice tho :]
