Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

Hi,

Today I was not able to login to ICQ. The UI message was "network
error". After a while I had a look to the debug log and found this:

purple/oscar-CRITICAL: 11/16/2010 13:24:00.636991: startOSCARSession response
statusCode was 607: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<response
xmlns="http://developer.aim.com/xsd/aim.xsd";><statusCode>607</statusCode><statusText>Authentication
Required. Connection not approved for XXXXXXXXXXXXXX. Error code from BOSS
24. statusDetailCode
24</statusText><statusDetailCode>24</statusDetailCode><data><ts>1289910240</ts><upgradeData></upgradeData><betaData></betaData></data></response>
purple/connection-MESSAGE: 11/16/2010 13:24:00.637151: Connection error on
0xceefa0 (reason: 16 description: You have been connecting and disconnecting
too frequently. Wait ten minutes and try again. If you continue to try, you
will need to wait even longer.)

I think this happened due to the fact, that I switched quite fast
between my notebook and my desktop.... Anyway. I think it would be
great, if empathy could take this into account, by showing an
appropriate message to the user. In addition it would be great if the
auto reconnect interval would be adapted to a adequate interval.

OS: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
Empathy version: 2.30.2-0ubuntu1

Cheers,
M
