P.S to our comment above. We were using Nautilus to copy the files back
and forth not the Mac. After the update Nautilus stopped showing the Mac
files. After re-reading what I wrote that did not seem clear. Sorry!

After recently updating to Ubuntu 9.1 the Public folder file sharing
with an iMac running OS-X.5.8 worked perfectly. We moved files back and
forth constantly with no problem. However
