Upstream sugar developers are working on a patch.
** Affects: sugar (Ubuntu)

Fails to build with the same problem in sugar-jhbuild on Ubuntu 8.10.

Binary package hint: gparted
This is with gparted 0.3.8-1ubuntu2 on intrepid.
I resized a fat32 partition on an external firewire drive. It completed
the actual resize, and was in the stage of growing the filesystem.
This seemed to be taking forever and I left it overnight.

The hardy binpackage was hulahop. The intrepid package, synced from
debian, is python-hulahop (source sugar-hulahop). hulahop has been
dropped from intrepid.
This transition needs to be handled.
