@Fabio: do you see the /afs mount in Edit-Preferences? As i said on
2009-10-08, I can't, and I'm using the default install for Karmic.
I'll try to send a report upstream.

When starting Disk Usage Analyzer (baobab), it scans
my afs mounts. This seems very unnecessary, and should at least not be the
default.
Network mounts should generally not be scanned by baobab.

Also confirming on an Asus EEE 901, with a Globetrotter HSDPA modem.
The connecton never goes up, but instead fails with these messages in
syslog:
