Can confirm and reproduce using the method described by mr. Kaufmann on
Ubuntu, Debian and Centos, so this should probably be pushed upstream.

any bars on the indicator in Gnome, but the connection is solid and fast
(speedtest.net reports 58.74/38.28 Mbps)-
