This bug makes unity basically un-usable on a hp elitebook 2530p with
intel 9-series integrated graphics (and I presume on almost all other
computers with newer intel display-adapters).
Bug-status should be raised to critical.

Manually installing libnss3_3.12.9+*_amd64.deb with dpkg -i seems to
have fixed the problem.

libnss3.so went missing after upgrade

I agree, many times the blinking cursor is just what is needed to
indicate that the focused terminal is working as intended or for example
a connection to a server is live.
Removing the blinking makes simple monitoring of the focused terminal
impossible.
Upstream should rethink their position on
It's nothing I can't live with, but as stated in the original bug description,
it's somewhat annoying when you don't realize that it's supposed to do that.
Imho it deters users with more experience from upgrading.
The action should be some kind of extra power saving option and not on by
default.
Public bug reported:
Minimizing window sometimes leaves a visible trail of the top panel of the
minimized window on top of the desktop.
Moving an icon on the desktop, opening another window, moving from workspace to
another and other such actions clear the garbage off the screen.

Topbar - close button for maximised windows in the top
This happens when you try to switch users.
Switching to terminal and restarting the lightdm service results in a
lock-screen of the first user, from which you can log back in.

This is completely due to bug #835699 , which opens and activates the
window over the run-dialog when alt f2 is pressed.

Unity window switcher takes
Seems that now it only opens the switcher if alt is kept down, quick pushes
won't open the switcher.
Good tip if you were annoyed by your default shortcuts not working.

The point is that the cursor should never stop blinking in an active

Same exact problem here.
Unity reset and resetting compiz settings and plugins to default had no effect.
Prowled through all the settings and configs I could find, but didn't find any
actual setting that would cause this.
I have a HP elitebook with FIN/SWE keyboard.
