I was able to compile and run netgen 6.0 beta when I noticed it tried to compile with -lTogl1.7 which does not match the library name /usr/lib/libTogl.so.1.7. I soft-linked /usr/lib/libTogl1.7.so to the library and compilation worked. So this whole issue might have to do with naming the library...
