I tried to install Ubuntu 20.04 on my system, all the other things are
installing correctly, then at the end grub-installer package for amd_x64
something failed and after restarting my system is stuck at grub screen

the laptop turns off automatically without any warning. When again switched on,
it shows the right amount of power reamining but again starts draining quickly
and turns off in about 10 mins. Again when switched on it has the right amnt of
battery left.
The battery is fine
Christopher, I managed to fix the bug by switching from the nouveau driver
to the nvidia proprietary driver. Then installing Optimus later. Thanks

Even in virtual console it freezes.
Steps I performed.
1) Login to my desktop session
2) Run command pgrep Xorg to get the pid. Lets say 1122
3) Then I pressed control-alt-f2 to go to virtual console.
4) Run command pgrep Xorg to get the pid and it was same i.e 1122
5) Run command
I already said in my previous comment that when I run gdb to debug xorg,
the system freezes indefinitely. I have run this command
sudo gdb /usr/bin/Xorg 21 | tee gdb-Xorg.txt

Blindly pointing to Comment #403 doesn't help, because it is outdated, and more
importantly, *misleading*. Please read that again yourself. Anyway we never saw
Alex Limi after comment #406 here who was passionate for fixing this. At least
I tried to collect the backtrace but whenever I try to run gdb and
attach Xorg, the system freezes for indefinite time and I cannot control
anything. Please give any suggestions.
