well that was fun.
with the 4.1 kernel and the proprietary drivers i was trapped in cli. much fun
there.
i disabled the proprietary drivers, including the amd microcode that i
forgot i enabled. after which is still had no luck with the 4.1 kernel.
i did however boot just fine with the 3.13
I'm thinking the issue is with the microcode driver, i will test again
to see.

across more than one) are symlinks but the targets are non-existent. The
targets are actually the content of what the files should be.
Use nautilus or whatever file explorer your using, go to the broken file

To add to this request, I set up another wireless card as an AP, and
iwlwifi was able to connect to it, so I think the bug is between iwlwifi
on client side, and rtl8192cu on the hostapd side. (Bus 001 Device 004:
ID 0bda:8178 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8192CU 802.11n WLAN
Adapter).

I believe it is a tool maintained by LinuxMint. In the menu it is called USB
Image Writer, but when I start it, the process that shows up is mintstick.
