In Karmic (and I believe other previous Ubuntu releases) if gnome-panel
was intentionally killed using xkill or killall gnome-panel, after a
moment the panel(s) would re-appear.
In Lucid this does not happen, and must be manually restarted

There is a certain amount of irony asking for a screenshot when the
bug deals with screenshots not working.
BUT, today when I tried to make a screenshot to update this bug -- it
worked as designed. I had several of the 1/4 screenshots, but I have
already deleted them (checked in Trash also, but
I have included a screenshot. Interestingly, what I see on the screen
does not match what is captured by the screenshot. On screen the mouse
pointer changes to a bi-directional arrow (left-right) suggesting you
could adjust the size - on the screenshot you only see a regular
pointer.
**
How do I determine if I am using a classic or GTK+ theme(s)?
Having Compiz ON or OFF has no impact on the issue (if that helps).
