Had the same issue on 8.10 for a while now. Solved it after: - Removing all unneeded FF addons (only kept NoScript for the time being) - Updating my nvidia drivers to 180.11 from (manually removing all remains of nvidia before updating)
Noticeable difference after that not only while using FF but with System Monitor which would use tons of CPU to run.
