I have exactly the same behavior with laptop Dell D620 with Intel 3945.

Positions of window splitters don't save in the workspace. Everytime I

As someone noted above this bug is also present when using creative
xmod. It seems to be some kind of race condition, where maybe two pieces
of code try to change volume to the response of changing volume using
the knob or +/- on the keyboard. This is only my guess. Anyway, bug
still exists in

list outputs nothing, but lsusb lists Creative device.
