Same problem here. I installed 1.3-0ubuntu11 from oneiric-proposed, but nothing
changed.
The delay was caused by the following lines of /etc/network/interfaces:

Thank you for your answer. However, there is a reason if want to keep
ppp inside /etc/network/interfaces. Indeed, when finally the wlan is
started, then the ppp will work, too, without human interference.
Otherwise, if I remove the interface ppp, I will have to manually launch
pon dsl-provider...

The problem (in my case) is that pppoeconf modifies the file
/etc/network/interfaces, adding the lines:
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet manual
so that network-manager stops to handle eth0.
I commented these two lines, and network-manager works again.

Now, my system is improved a bit.
I have disabled Ubuntu desktop effects, and after some days I have enabled them
again.
Ubuntu has downloaded some drivers (which ones? why?) and now the system works
better. It freezes just sometimes, once each 2-3 days.
5 minutes ago Ubuntu has freezed again.
I have added the requested option to the kernel line:
linux /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.31-17-generic

Sometimes, usually once-twice a day, my Ubuntu freezes.
Everything seems blocked: keyboard, mouse, screen.
Ctrl+Alt+Fx does not work, so I can't open another terminal.
The only key that is recognized is AltGr+SysReq+B, which reboots my machine.
Problem appeared again in karmic...
I think (but of course it's just my opinion) you should include in the
repositories all the packages kile-i18n-xxx, even if they are in beta.
Or, you could include the packages kile-i18n-xxx from some old version.
A bad or partial translation is better than

I've made another experiment.
I deleted both ~/.kde/share/config/kilerc and ~/.kde/share/apps/kile/kileui.rc
This makes kile fresh, every setting is restored as default
Then, I changed something inside the tools toolbar, and also inside the
main toolbar.
Result:

In order to show the toolbar, I follow the same procedure of ptitpoul.

I have a similar problem, but I don't know if it is the same.
In my case, I found out a workaround to make Kile working properly again: I
change working space:
Ctrl+Alt+Left, then Ctrl+Alt+Right
and now Kile returns to work with the normal speed.

The touchpad does not work (I see a mouse on the screen but it does not move).

I have two (disconnected) imap accounts. In the same situation described
before, If I do this, kontact deletes the host name of one of my accounts,
thus giving the Host unknown error ad libitum.
In my case, kontact does not delete anyone of my accounts.
Using Kubuntu 8.10,
Okular already supports this, just the support is a bit flaky, but it's there,
just needs someone that uses it to give ideas on how to do the user interaction
part.
