Can you please try with this option in the Device section of your xorg.conf:
Option BusType PCI
Another option to try is: Option BCIforXv false
BTW, does it crash if you use Visualizations in Rhythmbox?
I have narrowed down the problem to the videos resolution. If the size
is 576 x 240 it will hard lock the system. Have no idea why, but maybe
their is a bug in the video driver and the accel of the video.

I felt the need to look into this some more and tried to use the magic
keys in the kernel to recover but I was unable to. Also I am going to
add a 1 meg file of the mpg in question. I used dd to extract it, if
more is needed let me know. I would play it but I know the outcome.

Well to my dismay I checked the file I uploaded and find it didn't
reproduce the error. But I did figure out a key needed to reproduce the
error the hyphen in the text file must be in bold. so if it was written
in simple html bTest - /btset I found this to be critical in
reproducing this problem.

If you have a line in open office lets say bTest - /b Tset and Tset
is not in bold but Test is and you do spell check and correct work Tset
to Test it will become bold even though it wasnt bold to begin with.
