i thought i should add that i almost always have the extra pane open
(F3) when this occurs, the drive being ejected is only in one tab on one
pane. i've also noticed with a single pane, it tends to crash every
_other_ drive ejection; i can get away with ejecting one, but the second
one crashes it.

this is _much worse_ in lucid (beta 2); it almost never gets past the
b43-pci-bridge message, it will if you boot into another OS and
restart without powering down

yes, it still does it with beta 2; the main view redrawing for every new
item is what makes it very slow
if you've ever added the folder to rhythmbox and it sees the device go
away; it will add all of them at once when it comes back (thus bypassing

spoke too soon; freezes seem arbitrary, it looks like they were what was
causing occasional boot failures even before i upgraded to lucid

why is it being built, and are there any reports of its absence breaking
anything? or is it just the error console messages; seems to me if
there's no need for it, and it hasn't worked anyways in a long time
the absence of this causes constant warning messages in repo builds of
firefox once a second about parts of it that are present but missing,
ie. the files are on disk but its still complaining, affecting battery
life; about:buildconfig says python is still being enabled, but from
what i've seen

main track list/view is very obtrusive when files are being added/removed
i have no clue as to reproducing it; it happened once and hasn't since
that time, i reported it in case the apport report might be
useful/obvious

this kind of makes fixing the bugs a little less of an issue if the pref
is going to be hidden; they might remove it entirely soon enough,
rendering this bug moot
that's not to say i agree with the bug or removing this functionality
