I applied the patch from Chris Wilson to xserver-xorg-core
2:1.16.0-1ubuntu1 and find that my mousepointer now travels to the
monitor's edge when using scale with xrandr.
It appears that the package's .diff.gz has some changes (why isn't that
a quilt patch?) in the affected file, a patch that
Replacing the macro's __DATE__ and __TIME__ with empty strings gets
around this error, but then other compilation problems come up. It looks
like the module is not prepared for recent kernel versions :(

Booting from usb works, booting from harddisk not (after installation),
booting from harddisk while passing nr_cpus=1 on kernel cmdline works
(but only works with 1 core, obviously).

apple_backlight. If so, you can try to write to the file 'brightness' in there

I see the problem as well in Banshee 2.3.6 on Oneiric. Firing up
MonoDevelop shows me that AlbumListView::OnSizeAllocated() tries to
create a Hyena.Gui.Canvas.Rect from list_rendering_alloc, which throws
the ArgumentException because height=-9 0. Not sure yet where it comes

I see that upstream has updated the Makefile. It is my turn to update
the package again and rely on that since it now works correctly if I am
correct. I'm a bit short on spare-time right now but I'll try to find
some. Then the package should be ready to get into Ubuntu. I'm not too

although I don't have a problem with ctypes

A tiny thing about DESTDIR that may be useful to know in general: please
use PREFIX for to set the prefix in the Makefile, and don't set DESTDIR
(but

Ok, I uploaded a package to my PPA at http://launchpad.net/~wvengen/+archive .
After adding the repository, install the package r5u87x-firmware. A couple of
notes regarding packaging:
* udev rules are automatically generated from parsing ucode/*.fw
* there is a -firmware package containing
