i suggest you to install ntfs-config. Please search for it in synaptic
packager manager or copy paste this in terminal. both ways you can
install new packges
sudo apt-get install ntfs-config
this package once installed can be run from Application-->System
Tools-->NTFS config

decided to do it using the text mode CD (alternate). It turns out that
if we use that it doesnt write the fstab for the NTFS windoze
partitions. All it does while startup is mount the ext3 partition.
