The method I am suggesting doesn't use LiveCD but has some restrictions.
This is how we people recover
Ram: ophcrack is well know but i think the size is around 600 mb and
it will attempt to crack the password when there are other pieces of
software that can reset the password in an instant.
As fot chntpw, try it. It cant hurt and if it works then well and good
but if it fails then try deleting
