Thanks for informing about Recoll. Till now I had been using deskbar-applet. It does a little bit of calculations as well and can be used to launch programs too. Never searched for Indic fonts though with it. Will try Recoll. While, we are on the topic of Indic Fonts, is there any text editor

I have been using Beagle Search for several years as my Indic language search tool. It is the only desktop search tool I have found which reliably searches my Hindi language documents. Here I mean that it searches the text of the documents, not just the file name. And as an added plus, it supplies
