that file should be generated in the current directory, that is, the
directory where you are when you run that script *ONLY* if you have
writing permissions. e.g. if you copy and paste that code in your home
directory then that file should be created there.

This does not look like an upstream bug.
The error is the result of a permission denied problem, that is caused by
debian/patches/22_root_only.dpatch.
This patch temporarilly sets the real AND effective user id to the sudo user id
in src/shares/shares-tools.c in function gst_shares_tool_init()

An easy workaround (at least for FAT volumes) would be to add the root user to

password. The dialog box that pops up to allow you to enter you
password doesn't give you any feedback that you are entering a
password. It should give feed back like gdm does when you login.

I have gutsy installed on my G4 powerpc.
It looks to me like the ide driver is not getting loaded.
Here's what I tried.
boot with:
boot Linux break=premount
At the initramfs prompt the command ls /proc/shows no directory for ide.
IIRC there is also no /proc/partitions.

I have been out for a few days. After my upgrade from feisty to Gutsy
I got the problem with GIMP but more and more applications were
crashing. So I had to reinstall. I reinstalled the Tribe Live CD 2 and

Hmm, looks like the title is wrong. It's Java 6.0 instead of 5.0.
I was confused by JavaVM5 but if you look paths it uses Java 6.0.

I didn't reject it, but I'm not sure how backporting a package for
Ubuntu Feisty can be a Baltix bug? There is certainly no telling from
an Ubuntu perspective if someone is a Baltix developer or not.
Backporting to Baltix is not, IMO, the same bug.
