However I notice that an update to Samba today has solved the problem
and I can access Windows Shares and my backups work OK.

Hi
The location service on my BQ 4.5 phone hasn't worked since OTA-11. So
none of the map apps (Google, Here and OSMTouch) will find my current
position and nor will the NearBy scope.
I made a bug report (
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/location-service/+bug/1588994) a
month ago, but
Public bug reported:
Since installing OTA-11 Google maps reports 'Google maps could not
determine your precise location' and Here maps says 'Can't find your
location'.
Location detection is ON.
'Using GPS, anonymised Wi-Fi and mobile network info' is selected in
Location settings.

Hi Jim
I wouldn't by that one as one comment say it comes with 12.04 (which is out
of support) and you can't easily update it because of the driver for the
Realtek wifi card.
I would go for any other computer that will run 14.04 or 16.04 out of the
box, whether or not I had to overwrite the
Hi all
I thought I might try my hand at creating a webapp for the phone.
I tried the SDK method first and it insisted I create a Device Kit, which
did not work.
So then I tried the online webapp generator which very quickly created a
.click file for me.

Have tried SSH to the frozen computer and it does not work. Does this
indicate something more fundamental than a problem in compiz or xorg?

Public bug reported:
My system frequently freezes. The screen is still displayed but no
input is accepted from mouse or keyboard. The only action available is
to switch off and re-start.
ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.10
Package: compiz 1:0.9.12.2+15.10.20151015-0ubuntu1
I have reported this under compiz as the freeze most often occurs when
scrolling up and down or moving about in web pages. It has, however,
also occurred when in other programs, such as playing a game of
Solitaire.

I have both an Android and an Ubuntu phone. The only Google thing the
Ubuntu phone doesn't do is Hangouts. I would love to have that. What I do
have is Gmail, G+, Maps & Calendar.

LIam is right, you have to check that your hardware is correctly
installed. The subject line 'Twin DVD drives not mounting' is not really
correct. The drives themselves are not 'mounted'. It's the DVD or CD put
into the drive that is mounted. with a udf or ISO9600 file system on them.
And that
Hi David
I'm not a big expert on these things. Here are a few ideas. I'm sure
someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
First of all. I must say that I'm not sure what your problem is. You don't
usually need an entry in fstab to mount DVDs. On my PC a pre-recorded CD or
DVD just gets mounted
